Q: What to Wear?
A: BBDC Class Attire Policy
We encourage dancers of all backgrounds, gender identities, and body types to wear what feels empowering and safe! If you have specific needs or require modifications, we’re happy to accommodate. Please refer to the guidelines below and contact us with any questions:

Dance Classes & Fitness

Clothing should allow for full range of motion and not obstruct movement.

Athletic wear including fitted tops or leotards, leggings, or dance shorts.

Hair should be pulled back and away from the face.

Jewelry should be minimal for safety.

Layers are encouraged.

Bare feet, jazz shoes, half soles, or sneakers for footwear depending on style and instructor preference.

Bring a water bottle!
Preschool / Minis Classes

Leotards, leggings, or tutus with ballet slippers, jazz shoes or bare feet.

Comfort and confidence come first—sparkle and color welcome!
Hip Hop
-
Comfortable streetwear or activewear (sweats, joggers, tank tops, t-shirts).

Clean sneakers (studio-only shoes).
Burlesque

Fitted dance-wear or workout wear that makes you feel confident and free to move.

Bring layers!

Heels with ankle support and a flexible sole (if worn).

Knee pads optional for floor work.
Q: Can someone be refused service?
A: Big Bear Dance Center maintains a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination or disrespect of any kind, including behavior targeting someone’s identity or self-expression. Any such conduct will result in immediate removal from the studio and permanent dismissal from classes — no exceptions. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone exhibiting unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate behavior.
Q: Can I bring a guest to class?
A: No - guests are not allowed. We encourage everyone to participate & dance!
Q: How big are the classes?
A: Group classes require 2 or more students to happen; class sizes are limited to 10 students.
Q: Do you offer refunds?
A: BBDC does not offer refunds. Please review our cancellation policy for credit options.
*All class packages have an expiration date from time of purchase.
*Unlimited memberships cannot be transferred to another client.
Q: What behavior is expected in class?
A: Respect, focus, and kindness are expected at all times toward instructors, fellow dancers, and the studio space. Positive energy and a growth mindset are key!
Q: How do I cancel a class?
A: You can cancel through your account or by contacting us at least 4 hours in advance to be eligible for a class credit.
Q: Are classes filmed or photographed?
A: Occasionally, we film or take photos for promotional purposes. Let us know if you prefer not to be included. Recording of instruction is strictly forbidden. Instructors may approve recording the last 10 minutes of class. If you plan on posting a video please make sure you have permission from those included, and credit the studio and choreographer.
Q: What happens in bad weather?
A: In severe weather, classes may be postponed. We’ll notify you via email or text and post updates on our social media.
